Cash leaves The Cab

There has been speculation for a couple weeks that members of The Cab were leaving the band.

With first a short post today on Alex DeLeon's blog and a response from Cash, they have tried to put rumors and concerns to rest. [cut=Sad face...]

goodbye dear friend

First off I can’t thank our fans enough for making the What Happens In Vegas tour a success beyond our wildest dreams. I don’t think anybody quite realizes how much this means to us but it absolutely means the world. It was our first nationwide headlining tour and you guys were loving, welcoming, and absolutely incredible! I’m sad to say the day has come where Cash has decided to leave the band and to move on from touring to pursue his other interests and dreams and to do what’s right for him in Las Vegas. If you follow Cash on twitter I’m sure you’ve seen everything he has on his plate and that he’s been working on at home. We wish him the best and I’m sure he’ll be no stranger at a Cab show or anytime we’re back in town. Thank you again to everyone for your unending support, you’ve made the tour and this summer one we’ll never forget. We hope to see everybody again soon. We are happier than ever and have so many songs we are dying to show you guys! Get ready… the best is yet to come!

I decided to write this because the blog about me was really short with really no answers to any of the questions and rumors floating around the internet. So, here it goes.

It was 11^th grade, 2 men (boys) who were best of friends, 2 guitars and a band name, The Cab. My whole life, everything I did and all that I had was being put into a developing act. It was a newborn child, but sometimes, tho you love it... you have to let your child go to college. I’m proud as a founding member of this band to say the things I’ve done, the people I’ve met and the friends I’ve made. After five years it’s time for me to take a mental nap. Being home I can collect my thoughts and move forward. You guys out there don’t realize how much you have made me, me. Fans, friends and foes I thank you all for the motive you’ve brought into my life to help build a huge part of what I am today. Nobody should read this and be upset, be happy. You have a talented band following there dream and a few members that are now following there dreams. Times change, people change... hell, I’ve changed. But in my eyes its for the better that I move forward and settle down with a life in Las Vegas for now. I love touring, I love music and I will never not consider going out back on the road in some form... just now is really not my time. I want you all to be anxious for what’s to come of me in the future and know as a main point of this announcement that I am ok and alive. I will be better than ever. So this is me, this is who I’ve become. And to my brothers of the cab, I know what’s to come of you and all will be amazed when the world’s ears listen. Best of luck guys and for all of you across the states, come see me in Las Vegas sometime... it’s always nice to see an old friend.

as a fan of The Cab, I was very upset when Ian left the band.

To know now that Cash is not going to be a part of the new record is another tough blow. in my eyes it's unclear whether Cash thinks that "going out back on the road in some form... " will be playing bass with The Cab, but I hope so. The energy and love he brings to the stage have always made my night.

I'm gonna miss Cash, and needless to say The Cab will not be the same without him. It seems that the Cab has been through a bit of a tough time in the last couple of months, and I really really hope that this is not because members of the band can't seem to get along. I hope they all remain friends.

I can only hope that Cash's future will be bright. He's got his bar/venu Johnny and Harry's (@j_and_h_lv on Twitter) that seems to be taking up most of his time, and I hope it keeps going well. I'll be sure to stop by when I am A. 21 and B. in Las Vegas.

I think that Cash's latest tweet, as of writing this, really sums up the situation:

Panic at the disco is breaking up!

OH my god.

I don't really know what to say here. Panic at the disco has been a huge part of my life. they're the band that brought me to Buzznet, and THAT obviously means a lot to me. I'm in shock and don't believe it. do you?

(if anyone posts anything along the lines of "well they're better off now" I, (for Rich's sake) " will shoot you with a rainbow in ur face". without Ryan and Jon there is no Panic! in my opinion.)

Why I Like the Stuff You Hate #1â�¦ Metro Station

this is the first blog in a series I'm planning called, obviously, "Why I Like the Stuff You Hate."

I like Metro Station

I’m just gonna go ahead and let that sit for a little bit. If you want to ignore everything I’m about to say, go right ahead. Leave a comment about Trace’s horse face. I don’t mind…

with there presence on the Believers Never Die tour, I've been hearing a LOT of smack talked about this band.

I like the song Shake It. I like to shake it, to the song Shake it! There’s no doubt in my mind its just a pop dance tune. speaking of Metro Station songs I like... I enjoy Kelsey, I Wish We Were Older, Disco, Control, and Seventeen Forever too.

I don’t think that Metro Station’s music is exceptionally good. Its just fun! Why should you hate a band for being ONLY fun?

I can understand hating them for being over hyped, proclaimed as good and then really sucking. But they aren’t, and they don’t.

Granted, there are plenty of fan girls. Trace Cyrus fan girls are kind of terrifying. There are ALWAYS fan girls though. What else is new?

When I saw Metro Station live at Bamboozle Left, I was a smidge dissatisfied. Mason, the lead singer’s voice was great. I thought he sounded fine! It was Trace I had problems with.

The problem wasn’t really a problem once I figured out why he sounded so different.

First let me say: Trace Cyrus has about the most energy I’ve seen in any band member in a WHILE. He would NOT stop moving around, running, jumping off the drum set. It was quite annoying trying to take pictures, but he was engaging the crowd corner to corner.

Trace is ridin on a drumset, doing flips and shit...

Naturally, with anyone running around for extended periods of time, he became winded. In the recorded versions of the songs, Trace talk sings, and often whispers. Obviously, this would be hard to do winded, so he sort of yelled some lines, talked some… it was weird.

But hell! I’d rather see him put 110% into his set and listen to the “perfect” recording later.

plus he was very nice to me backstage at Bamboozle left. He's not a jerk. You don't even get that angle to argue.

Mason…

Has a fantastic voice. Trace, less so… but still respectable.

This is a little video I found of the two of them playing acoustically. I’m super impressed by Mason’s voice. The first “Oh wohh ehh ohh” he sings was just like… WOW.

I enjoy the combination of instruments in this group. I was at first surprised to realize they didn’t have a bass player. But the synthesizer apparently takes care of that. And makes it pop fun, with the dash of rock. I don’t know anything about the difficulty of the synthesizer lines Blake Healy is creating and performing… but I like them

Overall, I think Metro Station is summed up by this quote by Mason. When asked what he wants people to get from listening to their record he replied:

“We want them to dance. I want them to dance. If you are hearing me right now, I am Mason Musso and when you listen to our record feel free to fucking dance.”

Okay Mason. Trust me. I’m dancing…

My home town! Wish you were here..

my scene is an island that was only a floating bridge across from the best city in the world, SEATTLE! the Space Needle is the greatest icon of Seattle. It's so beautiful in the skyline! Plus, right under it is the Pacific Science Center, so I can geek out hardcore there :) my true hometown was on an Island just outside Seattle snowdays there were the best! I love that I had access to urban areas, but grew up separate from them. There is no better place, in my opinion, than my home town. It's made me who I am.

I got to go to their show for free cause my friend was going to do some filming for them. all the while he thought he was talking to their manager, he was actually talking to the guitarist (one far left of photo, with his face cut off). the singer and I had a moment after the show. we held hands for like, 5 seconds while locking eyes. it was awesome.

while waiting in line at the Staples Center for the Rock Band Tour I noticed a kind-of heavyset man in a long black trench coat walking by with a man significantly bigger than him. in my mind, i go "BODYGUARD" so I took a closer look at the man in the coat. I recognized him as the singer (not Trace cyrus) from Metro Station. this is mentioned to my friends, who all laugh at him. really, trench-coat man, REALLY? you DIDN'T think you were going to get noticed walking RIGHT by the line? oh yea, you did cause you wanted to be. pathetic.
